Biography of Swami Vivekananda


Swami Vivekananda born in January 12 1863 in Kolkata . His real name was
Narendranath. He was a Hindu monk and scholar. Vivekananda was the first
to Hindu before the World Parliament of Religions in 1893 in Chicago ,
Illinois
.

Vivekananda was the son of a lawyer from Kolkata. The city was one of the
most important intellectual centers of colonial India and he was already
in his college years from 1880, with Western philosophers and
intellectuals as Hegel and Herbert Spencer apart. At first he was a Hindu
reform movement, the Sadharana-Samaj to where he missed the personal
religious experience, however. At the age of 18 years Narendranath Datta
visited the mystic Ramakrishna in the Kali Temple
