Ram Nath
Kovind is the President of India. He was an Indian
Politician, serving as the pastGovernor of Bihar, in office since 16 August
2015. An advocate by profession, Kovind has been active in the political
scenario (BJP) from the past several years.
He was born
(born 1 October 1945) in Tehsil Derapur in Paraukh (Kanpur Dehat district,
Around 110 km from Kanpur). Kovind belongs to the Kori or Koli tribe which is
under the Scheduled Castes in Uttar Pradesh.
Family
His parents
are Maiku Lal (Father) and Kalawati (Mother). His spouse name is Savita Kovind
(Retired Government Employee). He was married on on 30 May 1974. Ram
Nath Kovind was the youngest of five sons (he also had two sisters). He has a
son, Prashant Kumar, who is married, and a daughter Swati.
Education
Ram Nath
Kovind received primary education in the village school. But since there were
no facilities for higher studies, he had to travel each day to Khanpur village,
six kilometres away, to attend junior school. In BNS Inter College, he studied
up to the 12th standard. His Education qualification is B.Com., LL.B. Educated
at B.N.S.D.Inter College and D.A.V.College, Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh).

underprivileged or marginalized sections of the society, especially SC,ST OBC, Dalit
and poor women.
